Are anxiety and fear holding you back?

Are anxiety and fear holding you back from reaching your true potential? They may be — more than you think!

Fear is something I've struggled with my whole life. It has robbed me of much joy and many opportunities. But fear doesn't have to get the last word -- even if it's in our wiring.

Did you know that the average person has between 12,000 and 60,000 thoughts per day — and of those thoughts, 80% are negative — and 95% of those are repetitive?

Why is that?

It is because one of your brain's most significant functions is to keep you alive. Your brain is constantly looking for threats, obstacles, and hindrances that could affect your well-being. Self-preservation is in its wiring. In other words, your brain is continuously trying to protect you.  It's like having your own personal security detail.

When something unknown or challenging arises, this "security detail" springs into action to protect you which triggers fear. It seeks out the negative and puts these threats on repeat to keep you aware of anything it perceives as a danger.

While some fear is healthy, much of fear is NOT.

Where do your hopes, dreams, and goals often lie? They reside in the realm of the unknown — in new and uncharted territory. They can be scary to tackle — and can trigger a reaction in your brain that says, "Stay away," or "You can't," or even "This will most likely fail."

And there go your dreams, hopes, and goals…

According to the ADAA (Anxiety and Depression Association of America), over 40 million people in the US alone suffer from anxiety-related disorders. This statistic means that 18.1% of the adult population will experience overwhelming fear and dread associated with anxiety at some point in their life. That statistic is not acceptable when life is so precious and our time is so valuable.

There are so many people suffering from anxiety-related issues today that it becomes easy to ignore how damaging they can be. Imagine what you could achieve without the fear of failure, fear of not being enough, or fear of not meeting other's expectations?

Imagine what it would feel like to release all of that!

Well, now you can!
